GSL ENERGY recently stated that the 384V high voltage solar LiFePO4 lithium battery storage system has been successfully put into use in Iraq for United Nations project. This project is located at the teaching building of University of Sulaimani, which aims to alleviating electricity shortages at university.

The solar system with solar panels on roof generates electricity during the day and uses that energy to power the building and charge the solar storage battery. The System is used as a battery backup for emergency use at school. Solar storage can provide power to essential appliance and electronics of the teaching building in a power outage.
This system consists of a GSL Energy 384V 50Ah lithium ion battery (LFP) and an EAST 10kwh hybrid off grid inverter. Lifepo4 battery is a lithium-ion secondary battery. It has great advantages over NI-MH and Ni-Cd batteries. Lifepo4 battery has high charge and discharges efficiency, and the charge and discharge efficiency can reach over 90% under the condition of discharge, while the lead-acid battery is about 80%. Lifepo4 battery refers to a lithium-ion battery using lithium iron phosphate as a positive electrode material. The GSL ENERGY lithium iron phosphate power battery has a cycle life of more than 6000 times.
