Meet Cassie, the crouching \'ostrich\' robot that could soon be delivering  your packages

Robot manufacturers turn to nature for their latest invention.
A walking machine like an ostrich.
The double pedal robot, called Cassie, has a unique leg design that looks similar to the big bird and can squat down and stand easily without falling.
Although the machine is a development platform, researchers expect its design to be used to develop robots that deliver packages or assist in search and rescue missions.
For video robot manufacturers, scrolling down has turned to their latest creation-two --
A walking machine like an ostrich.
The robot, called Cassie, has a unique leg design that looks similar to the big bird and can easily stand while crouching down. \"The technology will explode at some point,\" says Jonathan Hearst, when we make vehicles that are so automated and robots so efficient, delivery and shipment are almost free, associate Professor of Robotics, School of Engineering, Oregon State University, chief technology officer, agile robotics, and international leader in leg movement development.
It\'s very simple. robots with legs can go where many wheels can\'t go.
\"It\'s going to be the key to 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, being transported by a team of automated vans to your side of the road, as well as a door-to-door on-board robot
\"This robotic feature will free people from weekend shopping trivia, reduce energy use and give consumers more time to do what they want to do.
\"It effectively brings efficient automated logistics from the countryof-the-
Art warehouse in and out of the rest of the world.
However, this vision is long term.
Many steps are needed in this process.
While the robot does imitate the ostrich\'s legs, this is not what the team wants.
But they are looking for agile, efficiency and stability with large, long termThere are leg birds.
Designed by the team of agens Robotics, based in Oregon and Pennsylvania, Cassie is a rotating robotoff of OSU.

The design of the leg bird hasCassie allows the double pedal machine to stand, steer and \"fall well without breaking\", which is half the weight of the robot developed earlier by OSU, with the ability
Hearst said that our former robot, ATRIAS, has motors that can compete with other robots and are inefficient.
\"For Cassie, we \'ve fixed this and added steering, foot and sealing systems, so it works outdoors in rainy and snowy weather as we proceed with controller testing
Osu noted in the YouTube video that ATRIAS reflected the basic features they wanted to show about traditional sports.
Along with Kathy, the team added some extra motors to give the robot three degrees of freedom to the hip-giving it the ability to stand, sit down and Crouch.
They designed a unique lithium.
The ion battery pack Casey can carry with him-the team has built many parts of the robot itself.
\"There are a lot of robots out there that bring one --
Step by step
He explained that one step ahead of others, but they need a lot of energy to do that.
These robots will fall down as long as there is little interference.
