As the building transitioned toward higher electrification and energy efficiency, grid capacity limitations emerged as a key challenge to future growth.

Project Challenge | Grid Capacity Limitation

The site operates under a grid transport capacity limit of 84 kW, which restricts further expansion of electrical loads, including:

Electric vehicle charging stations

Air conditioning systems

Heat pumps and electrified HVAC equipment

Without structural changes, these constraints would limit scalability and operational flexibility.

GSL ENERGY Solution | Commercial BESS with Intelligent EMS

To resolve this challenge, a commercial battery energy storage system (BESS) from GSL ENERGY was deployed and installed by GSL ENERGY's exclusive authorized partner in the Netherlands.

Control system: Smart Energy Management System (EMS), locally adapted for the Dutch grid environment
