GSL ENERGY Helps Energy Transformation in Remote Areas of Malaysia

In September 2025, GSL ENERGY partnered with the local government of Malaysia and successfully delivered and commissioned an over 500 kWh off-grid commercial and industrial energy storage system in Johor, Malaysia. This landmark project not only brought green, clean power to a remote village that had long lacked reliable power, but also boosted the sustainable development of residents.

Local Government Prioritizes Energy and the Livelihoods

The Malaysian government has long focused on energy development and electricity accessibility in rural and remote areas. This project is a key implementation of its strategic promotion of energy and sustainable development.

Previously, the village was not connected to the national grid; over twenty households relied on candles for lighting at night, and their electricity supply primarily depended on expensive and unreliable diesel generators. Inadequate lighting, limited medical facilities, and inaccessible educational equipment hampered the village's development.

Now, with the GSL ENERGY energy storage system, the villagers finally have 24/7 uninterrupted clean electricity available. This meets the daily needs and lays a solid foundation for agricultural production, commercial, and educational development.

Social Impact and Celebration Ceremony

After the completion of the project, Malaysian members of parliament visited the site to inspect the operation of the GSL ENERGY off-grid energy storage system and participated in a "Lighting Up the Village" celebration with the villagers. In applause and cheers, the villagers celebrated with joy and were unable to conceal their excitement. For them, this was more than just the arrival of light; it was a turning point in their lifestyle and the arrival of hope.
