lithium-ion batteries - the way of the future

Over the past 20 years, as an industrial maintenance mechanic, I have seen the introduction of cordless tools revolutionize maintenance and other industries.
They help save time and money and can be used almost anywhere.
Since the early days of cordless tools, technology has become obsolete.
Greater voltage leads to greater power and longer running times for the battery, which helps these tools to be popular among merchants.
One of the only blows to cordless tools is the weight.
In the past, the average weight of 18-volt cordless drill was as high as 6 pounds.
Tool manufacturers have heard from merchants who want to get more power, more running time and lighter tools.
Development of lithium-
Ion batteries in the cordless tool industry meet all the needs of these three consumers. Lithium-
Ion batteries reduce the weight of Cordless batteries by 25-
40%, the total weight of the tool up to 25%.
In the past, many NiCad and NiMH batteries had to extend to the handles of tools such as cordless electric drills, reciprocating saws and circular saws.
It all translates into the overall weight of the battery and the tool.
With the development of lithium
Iom technology, manufacturers can pack more power in battery packs of the same size/weight as NiCad or NiMH, or install in smaller battery packs the same as NiCad or NiMHLithium-
Ion batteries can also provide more running time per charge than NiCad.
Maximum capacity of lithium-
The ion battery is 3. 0 Ah.
This indicates that NiCad increased by 25% at 2 points. 4 Ah.
The maximum rated capacity of NiMH is 3. 5 Ah. The lithium-
Ions may not provide a better run time than NiMH, But lithium-
Ion batteries will provide better total performance than NiCad and NiMH in battery life.
The results can be clearly seen in the power transfer curve of lithium cycle lifeion battery.
Compared with the old technology, the Power Transmission curve is stable.
This helps to keep the power delivery constant during the charging life.
