160kW / 418kWh All-In-One Liquid-Cooling BESS Cabinet for C&I

This video showcases GSL Energy's next-generation 418kWh All-In-One liquid-cooling battery energy storage cabinet, purpose-built for commercial and industrial (C&I) projects that demand more energy from the same installation space.

Compared to conventional 200kWh-class cabinets, this model doubles the energy capacity while keeping nearly the same footprint, delivering superior energy density, thermal stability, and system integration.

Opening the cabinet reveals a highly compact and robust structural layout designed for simplified maintenance and efficient space utilization.

At the bottom left are two high-voltage battery cluster control boxes, integrating:

BMU (Battery Management Unit)
Circuit breakers
Cluster management components
Each cluster manages 4 battery packs.

Each battery pack: 52.25kWh
Nominal voltage per pack: 166.4V
Nominal capacity: 314Ah
Each pack is equipped with an independent BCU
Total packs: 8 battery packs
Total system capacity: 418kWh
This modular cluster design enhances redundancy, safety, and precise battery management.
Liquid Cooling for Extreme Environments
Positioned above the battery cluster control boxes is the liquid-cooling unit, responsible for thermal regulation of all battery modules.

Multi-Layer Fire & Explosion Protection
At the top of the cabinet:
Heat detector
Smoke detector
Aerosol fire suppression module
In extreme thermal runaway scenarios, the system automatically activates fire suppression.
Additionally, every battery pack includes a pressure relief valve, creating an explosion-proof safety design by automatically releasing internal pressure when necessary.

Intelligent Control & Power Conversion

On the cabinet door:
HMI touch screen with self-developed EMS
I/O module for system communication
Dehumidifier to control internal humidity
Externally mounted on both sides:
Two 80kW PCS units (total 160kW)
Responsible for converting and managing power flow between:
DC battery
AC grid
AC loads

This configuration ensures highly efficient bidirectional energy conversion for on-grid and off-grid C&I applications.
